Israeli Airstrikes Kill 31, Injure 27 in Lebanon Amid Escalating Conflict
Wednesday Israeli airstrikes hit towns and villages in southern and eastern Lebanon, 31 killed 27 wounded according to Lebanese official and military sources. Lebanese military sources told Xinhua Israeli forces carried out 55 air raids in southern regions, 17 in the southeastern village of Khiam.
NNA reported the bombing extended to the nuns’ district in Nabatieh, large destruction in residential areas. Eastern regions around Baalbek were hit 15 times, widespread destruction. After Israeli evacuation orders in Baalbek, around 100,000 people fled their homes within hours.
Teams from Lebanese Red Cross, Islamic Health Authority and Civil Defence are still searching for missing people in the rubble.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several counter attacks on Israeli sites, fired missiles and drones at strategic targets like Adam Camp southeast of Tel Aviv and a missile defense facility near Hadera. The cross-border conflict has been ongoing since October 8, 2023 as Hezbollah and Israeli military exchange fire, fears of regional escalation as Hamas and Israel clash in Gaza.
